When she refuses this assistance Chan stages a mock assassination attempt in order to ensure her compliance. However, after discovering Chan's ruse, Selina does not attend the trial and Chu Tao is released on bail. With Chu Tao back on the streets Selina is in more danger than ever before. Can Chan protect her and finally bring Chu Tao to justice? In 'Police Story 2' (1988) Chan has been demoted to traffic duties following his heavy-handed manner. However, when Chu Tao is released from prison early and is intent on causing chaos around Hong Kong, Chan is brought back into the force to try and stop his old nemesis. Finally, in 'Police Story 3 - Supercop' (1992) Chan and Inspector Yang Chien-Hua (Michelle Yeoh) are tasked with travelling to mainland China to infiltrate the organisation of a dangerous drug lord. When the first part of the spirit's prediction comes true, Washizu tells his wife Asaji (Yamada) about the rest of the prophecy and her ambition leads him to commit murder, an act which seals both of their fates. He quickly ingratiates himself with the Park family and convinces them to employ the rest of his impoverished family disguised as his acquaintances. However, their scheme to infiltrate the Park's lavish life soon turns awry when their true identities come under scrutiny.
