The Sixties were a golden age for Jamaican vocal trios. During the latter half of this incredibly creative decade, a multitude of harmony groups made their mark on the island's music scene, <br/>but of these only a relative few possessed the talent and determination to endure beyond the rock steady era.<br/><br/>One trio that not only succeeded, but blossomed following the onset of reggae, is The Pioneers, who in 1969 became one of the first Jamaican acts to achieve international success with their UK hit, "Long Shot (Kick De Bucket)". The success of the single was swiftly followed by what became one of Trojan's biggest selling long players of all time, the aptly titled Long Shot. Showcasing a dozen of the group's best-known works to date for one of reggae's earliest and most successful producers Leslie Kong, the LP features a number of Jamaican hits, including "Samfie Man" and "Black Bud", as well as the best-selling title track.<br/><br/>Long Shot is available as a limited edition of 750 individually numbered copies on translucent magenta coloured vinyl.

1967's Mr. Soul of Jamaica was the first album by rocksteady star Anton Ellis. As one of the innovators of this genre who was given the informal title "Godfather of Rocksteady" he wrote some original reggae hits which contains a lot of soul. A familiar mix of heated horns, fine harmonies and impressive key works filling the air. The album is packed with some wonderful, melodic songs, ones that will appeal to vintage reggae lovers as well as soul music fans. Ellis is fabulous on every song on this record, including "You Make Me So Very Happy", "Why Birds Follow Spring" and "Ain't That Lovin' You".<br/><br/>Anton Ellis was inducted into the International Reggae And World Music Awards Hall Of Fame in 2006.
