Denna omfattande 40-CD-samling ger en omfattande översikt av countrymusik från 1924 till 1960. De flesta av artisterna från den här perioden är fortfarande välkända på dagens country & western scen. Här hittar du inte bara de bästa stjärnorna med sina hits, utan även mindre kända musiker.

Efter en kort introduktion av historien om countrymusik, presenteras de viktigaste musikerna med korta biografier. Som en överraskning innehåller denna samling de första inspelningarna av Kenny Rogers (1958) och Dolly Parton (1959), som firade sina största framgångar i mitten av 60-talet. Häftet innehåller också många sällsynta LP omslag. Låtarna på CD-skivor sorteras kronologiskt och häftet innehåller även den högsta placeringen av låtarna på de amerikanska Country & Western listorna. Enda undantag: Slim Dusty och Johnny Duncan & His Bluegrass Boys, eftersom de var bara framgångsrika i Storbritannien. Johnny Duncan var en amerikansk medborgare som deltog i brittiska "skiffle boom".
