"The Rest Of The Best", Vol. 1 & 2 covers some of the bands recordings released as B-sides on singles, soundtracks and as bonus tracks on Japanese, French and UK versions of their albums between 1994 - 2006. Both volumes are compiled by The Cardigans and remastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound. The artwork is created based on photos taken by the photographer Martin Bogren, who worked with the band from the very beginning.<br/> <br/>The band says: "We are delighted to release these compilations. Songs that for various reasons were left out of our studio albums. Now our audience can listen through all B sides in chronological order and it's a pure joy to reminisce all the way back to 1993. It's almost like a forgotten record, or rather four. We hope you'll enjoy the 13 year ride!" <br/> <br/>The Cardigans' sound is often described as an eclectic fusion of pop, rock, and alternative influences. Alongside catchy melodies, thoughtful lyrics, and lead vocalist Nina Persson's distinctive voice, their playful approach has resulted in beloved hits like "Lovefool," "My Favourite Game", "Step on Me" and over 15 million sold albums - globally. GRAMMY winning singer, songwriter, and pianist Norah Jones' ninth solo studio album Visions is a collaboration with producer and multi-instrumentalist Leon Michels that is introduced today with the official video for the album's lead single "Running." The song was co-written by Jones and Michels and features Norah on vocals, piano, guitar, and bass with Leon on drums and baritone saxophone.<br/> <br/>Visions is a vibrant and joyous 12-song set that finds Jones singing about feeling free, wanting to dance, making it right, and acceptance of what life brings. It's the yang to the yin that was Pick Me Up Off The Floor, Jones' last album of new original songs which was released early in the pandemic lockdown of 2020 and foreshadowed many of the dark emotions of that period.

In early 1993, the legendary Johnny Cash found himself between contracts in his then nearly 40-year career and recorded an album's worth of songwriting demos at LSI Studios in Nashville of songs he'd written over many years. LSI at the time was owned by his son-in-law Mike Daniels and daughter Rosey, and he wanted to help the family financially while also record some songs special to him. Not long after the fruitful session, Johnny met producer Rick Rubin, and the recordings were shelved as the two embarked on an important and prolific musical partnership that revitalized the Man in Black's career that would last the rest of his life. <br/> <br/>Some thirty years later, John Carter Cash, the son of Johnny and June Carter Cash, rediscovered the songs and stripped them back to just Johnny's powerful, pristine vocals and acoustic guitar. Along with co-producer David "Fergie" Ferguson, the two invited a handpicked group of musicians that played with Johnny, including guitarist Marty Stuart and the late bassist Dave Roe, along with drummer Pete Abbott and several others, to the Cash Cabin, a hallowed space in Hendersonville, Tenn. where Johnny would write, record and relax, to breathe new life into the tracks, taking the sound back to the roots and heart of the songs.
