INFORMATION OM PRODUKTEN
Cowboys could rock, too. These "Hillbilly Rockers" were maybe not as hot or loud as the original Rock & Roll- and Rockabillyheroes, but sounded certainly not as laid back as one would expect around a camp fire.
Country & Western had quite an influence on the Rock & Roll and the Rockabilly-scene of the early 1950s. From the middle of the decade on, it worked the other way around, with the Rock&Rollers keeping the Cowboys on their toes. Surprisingly enough many "crooners" tried their luck at rocking, such as Jim Reeves, Faron Young, Sonny James, Bobby Bare, and the like, as did the stars of the Country & Western-scene, like Johnny Cash, Hank Snow, Marvin Rainwater, Johnny Horton, Don Gibson, or Buck Owens. This 10 CD-box set documents original hits and many real rarities - with a total of 250 carefully selected tracks, it presents a good overview over the rockin' C&W-scene. Be sure to put on your dancing boots.
