Bildat 1994 av Ulf Cederlund (Entombed, Disfear, Murder Squad) och kraftigt inspirerad av Unsane och andra liknande punk/noise-band som Hammerhead, NoMeansNo, Dead Moon och Melvins har den svenska trion etablerat sitt sound med två album "Right At You" 1996 samt "Slave Me" 1998. Efter att Johan Blomqvist lämnat bandet för att fokusera fullt ut på Backyard Babies gick Jörgen Sandström med i bandet innan de lade ner verksamheten i 20 år. Under 2017 bestämde sig de två originalmedlemmarna Ulf Cederlund och Johan Lundberg att starta upp bandet igen. Patrik Thorngren (Alpha Safari) tog över positionen på bas. Efter en spelning ville bandet spela in en ny skiva. Men hur kunde Haystack göra det? De bestämde sig för att arbeta snabbt, spontant och inte överarbeta något. Resultatet blev "The Sacrifice", inspelat och mixat på fyra dagar.

The final side of the double album was recorded during the four nights the band played at Hammersmith Odeon in October 1984. <br/> <br/>Both sets of concerts were part of the ground-breaking World Slavery Tour, in support of the band's 1984 album Powerslave, which started in Poland and featured 187 concerts across 331 days. The tour firmly established Iron Maiden as one of the most exciting live bands on the planet, a reputation that they carry to this day.
