Året är 1944. Andra världskriget härjar vidare på många fronter. <br/><br/>Soldaten Jack (Lachlan Nieboer, Downton Abbey) deserterar från sitt förband så han kan återförenas med sin fru Eva (Alicia Agnesson, Vikings). Under hans frånvaro har hon sökt sig till en isolerad bergsby för att få arbete i en ammunitionsfabrik.
