In 'Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope' (1977), on discovering a secret message hidden inside a droid that his family have bought, young farmhand Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) becomes involved with a band of fearless rebels as they try to take on the might of the Empire, led by the evil Emperor and Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader (Dave Prowse). Along the way he befriends Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) and roguish space pilot Han Solo (Harrison Ford) as he sets off on a quest to save Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher).<br/><br/>In 'Star Wars Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back' (1980), after the destruction of the Death Star, the rebels led by Luke and Leia are on the run from the vengeful Empire. Holed up on an inhospitable ice planet, they are soon discovered and must flee across the galaxy. Luke decides to visit an old Jedi Knight while Han and Leia become involved in a game of cat and mouse with Vader and a host of bounty hunters led by Boba Fett (Jeremy Bulloch).<br/><br/>In 'Star Wars Episode VI - Return of the Jedi' (1983), with Han being held captive by Jabba the Hutt (voice of Larry Ward), his friends Luke, Leia, Lando (Billy Dee Williams), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), R2-D2 (Kenny Baker) and C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) plan a rescue mission. Then the intrepid group must make another assault on the new, more powerful Death Star and Luke must face his destiny in the shape of Darth Vader.

Set 30 years after 'Star Wars Episode VI - Return of the Jedi' (1983), 'Star Wars Episode VII - The Force Awakens' (2015) follows Han Solo (Ford), Princess Leia (Fisher) and new characters scavenger Rey (Daisy Ridley), former stormtrooper Finn (John Boyega) and X-wing pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) as they face powerful forces from the dark side in the form of First Order commander Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and his master Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis). In 'Star Wars Episode VIII - The Last Jedi' (2017) Rey finds Luke Skywalker (Hamill) in self-imposed exile and tries to convince him to teach her the ways of the Force.<br/><br/>Finally 'Star Wars Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker' (2019) sees the fractured Resistance unite to make a final stand in their battle against the First Order. Meanwhile Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) orders Kylo Ren to find and kill Rey, the last remaining Jedi.

Following on from the earlier miniseries 'V' (1983) and 'V: The Final Battle' (1984), this series continues one year after the 'Resistance' defeated the alien 'Visitors'. With alien leader Diane (Jane Badler) under detention and facing trial for crimes against humanity, all seems well. However, when Diane manages to escape, joining up with a Visitor fleet waiting on the far side of the moon, she immediately sets about rejoining the alien fight, plotting to destroy Los Angeles with a space-based particle beam weapon. If that's not enough, the Visitors have also realised the importance of the newly born half-human, half-alien Starchild to their future survival prospects, and set a trap to catch her and use her DNA.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD / Box Set</i>
