Året var 1972 och bandet hade nått en kritisk gräns. Efter fem år av konstant turnerande - präglat av tre till fyra timmar långa maratonkonserter, fyra till fem kvällar i veckan - var den kollektiva energin tömd. Pressen att leverera var hög; förväntningen var att varje spelning skulle vara maximal, "utflippad" och präglad av total extas. Denna period av högintensivt skapande kulminerade i bandets sista spelning på fängelset i Falun i juli 1972. <br/><br/>Som en hybrid av studioprecision och rå live-energi fångades "Rock för kropp och själ" dels i den ikoniska Studio Decibel, och dels under bandets legendariska live-exkursioner.
