Thrash metal-giganterna Megadeth förbereder sig för det definitiva slutet. November 2025 är det 20 år sedan Thåström släppte det banbrytande albumet Skebokvarnsv.209. Albumet var för första gången till stor del aukustiskt och till skillnad från tidigare album blev text och röst viktigare än volym och distade gitarrer. Thåström själv har beskrivit det som ett sätt att återuppfinna sig själv. 'Memento Mori: Mexico City' features over 2 hours of live music from Depeche Mode's sold out September 2023 concert at the legendary Foro Sol Stadium plus 4 previously unreleased bonus tracks from the Memento Mori Sessions. The concert was also filmed for 'Depeche Mode: M,' the cinematic experience which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2025. The album includes classics like "Enjoy The Silence," "Personal Jesus," and "It's No Good" on 2 CDs plus 16 pages of live photos from the show.

All with bonus material.<br/><br/>After making his debut at a mere 17 years on Scorpions' first LP 'Lonesome Crow' in 1972, guitar maestro and mad axe-man Michael Schenker spent five years as lead guitarist with the inimitable UFO, before forming The Michael Schenker Group (MSG for short) with singer, Gary Barden, in 1979. With four studio albums and two live records under his belt between 1980 and 1984, Michael returned in 1987 with the 'Perfect Timing' album, fronted by former Grand Prix and Far Corporation singer, Robin McAuley, and a change of name to the McAuley Schenker Group - but still conveniently shortened to MSG. The new look MSG released a total of four albums between 1987 and 1992, starting with the melodic 'Perfect Timing' (1987), followed by 'Save Yourself' (1989), 'M.S.G.' (1992) and finally with 'Unplugged Live' (1992).<br/><br/>'Perfect Timing' features three singles; 'Love Is Not A Game', 'Follow The Night' and the US Hot 100 Hit 'Gimme Your Love', and is certainly the most melodic and AOR-friendly of this batch of albums. 'Save Yourself' followed in 1989. 1991's 'M.S.G.' was certainly a harder, grittier affair than the previous McAuley Schenker releases, and includes the single, 'Never Ending Nightmare'. The much harder, guitar-driven sound was possibly a reaction to grunge that was very much in vogue at the time, whereas 'Perfect Timing' was a good reflection of the more commercial, glam sounds and hair-metal that was the height of fashion in the mid-late 1980s.<br/><br/>Thanks in part to MTV's popular Unplugged series of TV broadcasts, albums and videos, going acoustic was certainly very much de rigueur in the early 1990s, which leads us to the fourth and last album in this collection; 1992's 'Unplugged Live'. As well as key McAuley Schenker songs, recorded live in Los Angeles in 1992, the album features three UFO classics; 'Natural Thing', 'Doctor Doctor' and 'Lights Out'. The Tower of Babel of performances and recordings of Sergei Rachmaninoff's music pleases the ear and the sight of the music lover today as it has been throughout the 20th century. In that Tower one can easily distinguish the voices of Rachmaninoff's music's "native speakers" - performers who spoke Rachmaninoff's mother's tongue, breathed the same air and enjoyed the same autumnal landscapes in childhood. In fact, it is the Tower of its own: looking through the list of Rachmaninoff's works and the names of Russian and Soviet performers in the Rachmaninoff Collection offered by legendary label Melodiya on the composer's 145th anniversary, one can assume just that. To a great surprise of the scholars and amateurs, such a collection has never been assembled previously. The "Russian idiom" (if we are to continue with the metaphor) has never been presented in such a massive and powerful way, reaching the "critical mass" that may lead to important conclusions about the Russian musical style and interpretation in general. The list contains the names of great singers from the generation of Soviet classics such as Irina Arkhipova, Ivan Kozlovsky, Georgy Nelepp, Elena Obraztsova, Mark Reisen, to the most current internationally renowned stars such as Hibla Gerzmava. One can find a smorgasbord of chamber music performed by the exceptional ensembles and individuals such as David Oistrakh, Leonid Kogan, Mstislav Rostropovich, Gidon Kremer and Daniil Shafran. An unusual component in the collection is the recordings of Rachmaninoff's Russian Orthodox church music - something that was carefully shoved under the rug in the Soviet times. The operas are represented by the best that the country could give - and here, for sure, the native Russian diction raises the level of performance to the classical height. And, of course, that poetics of the piano, in which Sergei Rachmaninoff expressed himself in the most unencumbered way, is represented in the Collection by the names that do not need promotion: Sviatoslav Richter, Emil Gilels, Grigory Sokolov, Vladimir Krainev, Alexei Nasedkin, Pavel Serebryakov - the list goes on until it reaches the latest acquisition on the Montparnasse of piano, Dmitry Masleev. For the connoisseurs, the Collection offers rare examples, many of them previously unreleased by Melodiya, together with those delicious brand-name tube-mic recordings that carry an unrivaled human quality and a tint of nostalgia. The edition comprises 33 CDs and 1 LP with previously unreleased recordings (Piano Concerto No. 2 performed by Vladimir Krainev and the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Yuri Temirkanov; and Vocalise orchestrated by the composer and performed by the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Dmitri Kitaenko). The edition includes a booklet in four languages (Russian, English, French and German).
