Coal merchant Bill Furlong (Murphy) lives in New Ross in Ireland with his wife and five daughters. When he makes a delivery to the local convent, he discovers mistreatment of young girls and decides to do something about it, despite numerous people telling him to forget what he saw.<br/><br/>The cast also includes Emily Watson, Michelle Fairley, Eileen Walsh and Clare Dunne.
