Information om ABBA
ABBA var en framgångsrik svensk popgrupp, som bildades 1972 och upplöstes 1982. Det stora internationella genombrottet kom i Eurovisionsschlagerfestivalen 1974, där gruppen framförde det vinnande bidraget Waterloo.
Namnet ABBA kommer från medlemmarnas initialer: Agnetha, Björn, Benny och Anni-Frid. På skivomslag skrev gruppen ofta namnet med det första B:et spegelvänt, vilket också blev gruppens logotyp.
ABBA bestod av två gifta par: Björn Ulvaeus och Agnetha Fältskog samt Benny Andersson och Anni-Frid 'Frida' Lyngstad. När deras äktenskap upplösts 1979 respektive 1981 upphörde allt turnerande och gruppen upplöstes under andra halvan av 1982. Medlemmarna började efter det att arbeta med egna projekt. Sista skivan med ABBA var The Visitors, som kom ut 1981.
Då ABBA upplöstes 1982 hade gruppen sålt omkring 180 miljoner skivor. ABBA är, med sina idag över 400 miljoner sålda skivor i hela världen, Sveriges mest framgångsrika musikexport genom tiderna, och fortsätter sälja 2-4 miljoner skivor varje år. Det var den första popgruppen från Kontinentaleuropa att under en längre tid nå större framgångar i den engelskspråkiga världen.
År 2018 meddelade bandet att det spelat in två nya låtar och det nya albumet, Voyage släpptes i slutet av 2021. ABBA låg återigen högt på topplistorna världen över.
