Split The Difference is the fourth studio album by English indie rock band Gomez, released on 17th May 2004. Production on the album was overseen by the band and Tchad Blake, known for producing albums by artists such as Tom Waits and Crowded House. The album was met with mixed critical response, with AllMusic rating it as four stars out of five and BBC Internet Music Reviews describing it as “one of the finest releases of the year so far. If you were one of those people who wrote them off two years ago, it’s time to get listening again."

Following his acclaimed remastering of the band’s debut Bring It On for the critically lauded 20th anniversary edition last year, Abbey Road’s Frank Arkwright has delved into the archive to remaster Liquid Skin from the original tapes. Gomez’s sophomore album that followed the Mercury Music prize winning Bring It On, Liquid Skin saw the band crystallize their unique British-Americana vibe, featuring breakout tracks such as We Haven’t Turned Around, as featured on the soundtrack to American Beauty.

In Our Gun, Gomez’s adventurous third album, finds the Mercury Prize–winning band pushing their eclectic sound into bold new territories. Released in 2002, it balances the group’s trademark rootsy warmth and harmonies with electronic experimentation, bursts of garage-rock energy, and intricate acoustic textures. Songs like “Shot Shot” and “Detroit Swing 66” showcase their knack for groove-driven swagger, while the title track and “Sound of Sounds” reveal a more reflective, atmospheric side. Inventive yet deeply melodic, In Our Gun captures Gomez at their most restless and expansive, cementing their reputation as one of the UK’s most shape-shifting and fearless bands.
