Having witnessed first-hand the horror and destruction of the First World War, scientist Jean Diaz (Victor Francen) is determined to never allow the world to be consumed by such chaos again. To this end he develops a device which he is confident will eliminate warfare forever. However, as the governments of the world begin gearing up for yet another all-consuming conflict, Diaz's device is used as just another weapon of war.
