The film follows Paul (Dafoe) as he travels to the Mexican village of Real de Catorce to settle his late father's estate. There, he discovers a photograph of a woman amongst his father's belongings and determines to find her. Using a translation device, he interrogates the locals about the woman's possible whereabouts. Meanwhile, a team of film-makers arrive in the remote village in search of stories for their documentary and eventually cross paths with Paul.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>

Jem (Hookings) grew up watching his grandfather Jack Slack (Russell Crowe) fight and, while his mother Mary (Jodhi May) doesn't want him to follow in his grandfather's footsteps, it's all he wants to do. Taken on by trainer Bill Warr (Ray Winstone), Jem fights well and is soon facing the champion of England. However, he struggles with the lifestyle of a fighter, just as his grandfather did, and is soon spending his time drinking and gambling.
