Under fyra år gav sig den modiga besättningen på NSEA Protector - "Commander Peter Quincy Taggart", "Lt. Tawny Madison" och "Dr. Lazarus" - ut på spännande och ofta farliga uppdrag i rymden! Men sedan blev det stopp för deras TV-serie! Nu, tjugo år senare, har utomjordingar som misstagit TV-utsändningarna för "historiska dokument" och byggt upp sin värld med hjälp av dessa "fakta", attackerats av sina fiender. De "strålar" då upp besättningen bestående av de avdankade skådespelarna för att hjälpa utomjordingarna att rädda universum. Utan manus, utan regissör och utan koll på läget måste nu skådespelarna göra sin bästa insats någonsin i detta hysteriska äventyr.
