Den tysta flykten - När denna klassiska science fiction-flm börjar har botanisten Freeman Lowell (Bruce Dern) tillbringat åtta år ombord på rymdskeppet "Valley Forge" där han bevarar de enda botaniska exemplar som fnns kvar från jorden under stora geodetiska kupoler. När han får order att förstöra projektet och återvända hem gör Lowell revolt och kapar rymdskeppet, dödar de andra i besättningen, skadar sig själv och kör in rymdskeppet bland Saturnus gasformiga ringar.Efter det har han bara sina träd, trädgårdar och två "drönarrobotar", Huey och Dewey, som sällskap på det ensammaste äventyret av alla.
