Tag plats för en skräckfylld resa med Stephen King bakom ratten! I New York möter vi en storbolmare (James Woods) på en antirök-klinik med minst sagt udda, men ytterst effektiva, metoder. Men så drivs kliniken också av en maffiafamilj. I Atlantic City beskådar vi när en stackars tennisstjärna (Robert Hayes) övertalas till vadslagning och tvingas ta sig runt ett hotell längs dess tolv centimeter smala avsats - på 30:e våningen! Och i Wilmington möter vi en ung flicka (Drew Barrymore) som har problem med ett vidrigt litet monster som varje natt lösgör sig ur sovrumsväggen.
