Efter att ha spenderat två år inom psykvården har den unga Sophie (Sophie Turner från Game Of Thrones) blivit utskriven. Snarare än att återge balansen har tiden på institution stärkt övertygelsen att hon inte vill vara med längre. Sophie fattar beslutet att ta sitt liv på flygplanstoaletten under färden hem. En serie av ödets utstuderat grymma nycker sätter dock planen ur spel. Planet kraschar. Sophie är en av två som klarar sig levande från olyckan. Tillsammans med den andre, en kille vid namn Paul, får hon kämpa mot elementen och sina egna självdestruktiva impulser när de försöker ta sig genom det snöklädda landskapet till civilisationen.
