Mamma Mia! -en magisk filmupplevelse! Denna glädjefyllda film bjuder på ABBA-låtar, ett överflöd av sång och dansnummer och en stjärnspäckad rollista. Filmen bygger på succémusikalen med samma namn där den blivande bruden Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) är på jakt efter sin pappa inför den stora dagen. Det är bara ett problem -hon vet inte vem han är. Men efter att ha tjuvläst sin mammas (Meryl Streep) dagböcker, kommer hon fram till att han är någon av hennes tre gamla pojkvänner. Hon bjuder in dem alla tre, även om hon vet att hennes mamma inte kommer att bli glad . Sophie försöker desperat att hemlighålla deras närvaro, men det dröjer inte länge förrän hemligheten avslöjas och det roliga börjar!

Det var sista gången som han slog henne. Sandra gav sin dotter deras hemliga kod så att hon kunde larma polisen. Sandra flyr med sina barn från sin våldsamma man och kämpar för att ge sina två döttrar en trygg uppväxt. Med fysiska och mentala ärr efter år av våld och hot, med två jobb och under hård press från socialen och bostadsbyråkratin, är hon fast besluten om att ändra deras liv och ordna ett säkert hem. När det blir tydligt att kommunfullmäktige inte kommer att tillhandahålla det tänkta hemmet, beslutar hon sig för att bygga det själv. Med en väldigt liten inkomst och inga besparingar alls måste Sandra använda all sin uppfinningsrikedom för att hennes dröm ska bli verklighet. Sandra får hjälp av nyvunna och gamla vänners vänlighet och generositet. Genom dem och hennes unga döttrars kärlek börjar hon sakta att finna styrkan och hitta tillbaka till sig själv.
