Orlando är en fantastisk saga om en ung androgyn adelsman på 1600-talet. Efter ett märkligt möte med Elisabet I förvandlas hans liv till ett äventyr där han försöker sig på kärleken, skriver poesi och ger sig på politiken

Året är 1927. En liten flicka vid namn Fegele lever lyckligt tillsammans med sin far och farmor i en rysk by. Inför det ständiga hotet om att utsättas för förföljelse, emigrerar dock fadern till Amerika ihopp om att få ett arbete och en dag kunna skicka efter sin familj. En kort tid efter faderns avresa ökar våldet och Fegele lyckas fly tillsammans med några bybor. Istället för att komma till Amerika, hamnar de i England. Fegele döps nu om till Suzie och får bo i ett strängt, kristet fosterhem, där hon förbjuds att tala jiddisch.

Sally Potter är tillbaks i den form hon visade med filmer som Orlando och Tango Lesson. Filmen utspelar sig på 60-talet, och handlar om de två vännerna Ginger och Rosa som föddes när Hiroshimabomben föll. De lever med rädslan om ett storkrig, inte bara i världen utan också i deras familj. Deras uttryck och handlingar går i två olika riktningar. <br/><br/>Ginger & Rosa är ett känsligt skildrat familjedrama med en stjärncast bestående av Elle Fanning, Christina Hendricks, Annette Bening bland andra. Sally Potter om hur nära Ginger & Rosa är hennes eget liv: "Om du vill göra en intim historia om de minsta och de allra största sakerna som händer i en persons liv så måste det vara personligt. Det måste kännas helt äkta och på riktigt. För att åstadkomma det så arbetar du med fiktionens lagar. Annars hade jag gjort en dokumentär och arbetat med gamla hemvideor. Jag har grävt i mitt eget liv, i mina vänners liv, men mest av allt har jag grävt i min fantasi och skapat en "tänk om"-situation."
