In the sequel, 'Iron Sky: The Coming Race' (2019), after Earth is destroyed by nuclear war a sparse population of human survivors take up temporary residence on the dark side of the Moon. When rumours surface about a hidden city in the hollow core of the Earth a small crew of humans go to investigate if it will be possible to reside there permanently. However, once they arrive they find that the city is populated by the Moon Nazis led by Adolf Hitler (Udo Kier).
