The crew have to make a dimension jump to get to the moon, during which the captain is killed and the fuel supply is damaged. Nick takes command, and upon arrival the ship docks with a patrol vehicle carrying the sole survivor of the mining expedition; Karl's son, Troy, who is carrying a strange alien artefact.
