Brought up together in this unforgiving landscape, Heathcliff and his adoptive sister, Cathy (Shannon Beer/Kaya Scoledario), become attached to one another on a primitive and instinctual level that transcends the bond of sibling or lover. When Cathy is reluctantly married off to insipid local landowner Edgar Linton (James Northcote), Heathcliff is cruelly abused and later thrown out by his brutish adoptive brother, Hindley (Lee Shaw). When his friend, Vidal (Antoine Vitez), introduces him to worldly and witty divorcee Maud (Francoise Fabian), Jean-Louis ends up staying overnight at her house and the two engage in philosophical discussions throughout the night. Despite Maud's advances towards Jean-Louis, their time together remains chaste, and the following morning Jean-Louis resumes his courtship of Francoise.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>

The only light in his life is the bar he frequents, and the beautiful singer (Vali Kerekes) who performs there, with whom Karrer is hopelessly in love.
