Denna filmatisering av Anne Franks dagbok är ett ingående porträtt av en judisk flicka och en berättelse om de omständigheter som tvingade henne och hennes familj att under drygt två år gömma sig på vinden i en gårdsfastighet i Amsterdam. <br/><br/>Anne Franks dagbok är ett av de viktigaste dokumenten om nazisternas förföljelse av judarna under andra världskriget och har lästs av miljontals människor världen över. I detalj skildrar hon de gripande och understundom underhållande vardagshändelserna i familjens gömställe, samtidigt som vi ständigt påminns om det fruktansvärda öde som väntar huvudpersonerna om de skulle bli upptäckta. <br/><br/>För att försäkra sig om att händelserna i dagboken framställdes så verklighetstroget som möjligt samarbetade BBC direkt med Anne Frank-stiftelsen inför inspelningen av filmen. Anne Frank-stiftelsen är mycket restriktiv när det gäller bearbetningar av dagboken vilket gör att det finns mycket få filmatiseringar och vi är därför mycket glada över att kunna presentera detta unika drama. Den detaljerade rekonstruktionen av huset och den prisbelönade skådespelarensemblens enastående rolltolkningar gör detta till en mycket sevärd tv-film.

All seven episodes of the BBC drama starring Sam Waterston as theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the man who led the team on the Manhattan Project to develop and build the first atomic bombs during WWII. A brilliant scientist, Oppenheimer is nevertheless suspected of communist sympathies by the government.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, as he begins to realise the scale of the weapon he has helped to create, he becomes increasingly ambivalent, and even hostile, about its eventual use. <br/><br/>The cast also includes Peter Banks, David Suchet and Colin Bennett.

They invite her to their home, the mysterious Northanger Abbey, but, so engrossed in the books she reads, Catherine is certain the Abbey will be full of intrigue which leads her to imagine a fantastical story about the death of Henry's mother. Initially horrified by the sight and smell of their new 'guest', Chloe's dysfunctional mum (Sheridan Smith) and dad (Johnny Vegas) finally relent. Having started out as a Radio 4 programme, the show charts the life of Vince (Lock), a misanthropic loser living in a council flat. Pool lifeguard Vince is desperately short on social graces - for example, he's fond of telling a good story he's heard and making out like it happened to him, oblivious to the fact everyone knows he's lying. His roommate Errol (Benedict Wong), is of mixed Chinese ancestry, hailing from a large mixed-race family in the northern tradition - he's easy-going which is good, living with Vince, but he's also a bit gullible. The lives of these two are mixed with scenes from those of the other people living in the tower block, a motley and miscellaneous bunch of deviants. She is a favourite aunt to her niece Fanny Knight (Imogen Poots) who looks to Jane for help in her own search for a happy marriage. Surely the wisdom and knowledge displayed in her novels make Jane an ideal candidate for vetting suitors. But as Jane reflects on her own romantic liaisons and love affairs, she recalls the missed opportunities, the proposals spurned, and the love that arrived too late. Did she make the right choices? Could the great novelist and supposed romantic expert have got things wrong all along?
