He arrives in London, shacking up with his ex-girlfriend, Louise (Lesley Sharp), and her gothic flatmate, Sophie (Katrin Cartlidge), before drifting onto the streets - undergoing a series of encounters which convince him of the spiritual emptiness of modern life. Accompanied by his daughter-in-law, Marianne (Ingrid Thulin) who is travelling to meet her estranged husband, Isak finds himself the subject of unsettling visions from his past, recalling lost loves and his own failed marriage. As the pair are interrupted by a youthful love triangle and a feuding older couple Isak is forced to confront his own loneliness, and the possibility that his life has been wasted.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray</i>

Pilkington is plagued with self-doubt regarding his own personal conduct, finding it difficult to square his own homosexuality with his religious beliefs. This conflict becomes more urgent when his relationship with a young man is made public and he discovers that a member of his congregation is abusing his daughter, but is bound from intervening by the sanctity of confession. Wealthy business executive Kingo Gondo (Mifune) faces a terrible choice when a kidnapper snatches the son of his chauffeur Aoki (Yutaka Sada) instead of his own son. If he pays the ransom he will be ruined financially but if he does not, he will be unable to face his family or Aoki. Meanwhile, police led by Inspector Tokura (Tatsuya Nakadai) investigate the crime. The cast also includes Kyôko Kagawa, Isao Kimura and Tsutomu Yamazaki.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray</i>

In 'Rynox' (1931) a wealthy businessman is being threatened by a mysterious stranger. When he is found murdered, his son takes over his company and begins searching for the man responsible for his father's death. In the process, he uncovers a tragic secret. In 'Hotel Splendide' (1932) a thief is released from prison and travels to the site where he buried his stolen jewels only to discover that a hotel has been built there in the interim. 'The Night of the Party' (1934) is set during a dinner party hosted by the ruthless Lord Studholme (Malcolm Keen). When he is murdered during a party game, the police must uncover which of the guests is responsible for the crime. In 'Her Last Affaire' (1936) a politician's wife is found dead at a country inn but the investigation stalls when the only suspect has an alibi. Finally, 'Behind the Mask' (1944) is an abridged version of 'The Man Behind the Mask' (1936) and follows an attempted theft at a masked ball.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray / Remastered</i>
