Accompanied by his daughter-in-law, Marianne (Ingrid Thulin) who is travelling to meet her estranged husband, Isak finds himself the subject of unsettling visions from his past, recalling lost loves and his own failed marriage. In a poor suburb outside Paris, three young men - Vinz (Cassel), Hubert (Hubert Koundé) and Saïd (Saïd Taghmaoui) - find their anger and hopelessness rising in the aftermath of a protest against police brutality which turned violent and left their friend Abdel (Abdel Ahmed Ghili) in critical condition. At the memorial service of their friend, Miwa (Chishu Ryu), three of his old friends devise a plot to find a husband for his unmarried daughter, Ayako (Yoko Tsukasa). To their consternation, Ayako refuses to fall in with their plan, expressing a preference to remain with her mother, Akiko (Setsuko Hara). The three men all harbour a lifetime crush on Akiko but agree that one of them should marry Ayako, which causes conflict among both family and friends. Eventually, with the help of Ayako's friend, Yukiko (Mariko Okada), Akiko and Ayako are reconciled, and Ayako concedes to marry according to the wishes of her elders.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD / with Blu-ray - Double Play</i>

David Thewlis is the motor-mouthed protagonist Johnny Fletcher; bitter, cynical and on the run from Manchester after raping a woman. He arrives in London, shacking up with his ex-girlfriend, Louise (Lesley Sharp), and her gothic flatmate, Sophie (Katrin Cartlidge), before drifting onto the streets - undergoing a series of encounters which convince him of the spiritual emptiness of modern life.
