In 'Rynox' (1931) a wealthy businessman is being threatened by a mysterious stranger. When he is found murdered, his son takes over his company and begins searching for the man responsible for his father's death. In the process, he uncovers a tragic secret. In 'Hotel Splendide' (1932) a thief is released from prison and travels to the site where he buried his stolen jewels only to discover that a hotel has been built there in the interim. 'The Night of the Party' (1934) is set during a dinner party hosted by the ruthless Lord Studholme (Malcolm Keen). When he is murdered during a party game, the police must uncover which of the guests is responsible for the crime. In 'Her Last Affaire' (1936) a politician's wife is found dead at a country inn but the investigation stalls when the only suspect has an alibi. Finally, 'Behind the Mask' (1944) is an abridged version of 'The Man Behind the Mask' (1936) and follows an attempted theft at a masked ball.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray / Remastered</i>

In 'Tokyo Twilight' (1957) graduate Akiko Sugiyama (Ineko Arima) is looking for her boyfriend, Kenji (Masami Taura), with whom she has a troubled relationship, when she meets a woman she believes may be her long-lost mother. Akiko's older sister, Takako (Setsuko Hara), tries to protect her from finding out about how their mother abandoned them but Akiko soon learns the truth with tragic consequences. In 'Woman of Tokyo' (1933) Chikako (Yoshiko Okada) works day and night to pay for her young brother, Ryoichi (Ureo Egawa)'s, university expenses. As the wage from her office job does not cover the costs, Chikako also works as a prostitute during the night, which Ryoichi is unaware of. When his girlfriend, whose brother is a policeman, finds out about Chikako's double life the situation spirals out of control. In 'Early Spring' (1956) office worker Shoji Sugiyama (Ryô Ikebe) is bored with his marriage to Masako (Chikage Awashima) and embarks on an affair with flirtatious colleague Kaneko (Keiko Kishi). The film follows the young Napoleon (Albert Dieudonné/Vladimir Roudenko) as he attends the elite military school Brienne College, joins the French Army, witnesses the French Revolution in 1792 and takes part in the First Italian Campaign, during which time he becomes increasingly influential in French politics and meets his future wife Joséphine (Gina Manès).<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray</i>

It tells the story of two families, the pro-Union Stonemans from the North and the pro-Confederacy Camerons from the South, and the way in which they are both caught up in the turmoil which befalls a sleepy Deep South town when Northern Abolitionists threaten to outlaw the slave trade which has existed there for years. Things go from bad to worse when Ben Cameron (Henry B. Walthall)'s little sister dies at the hands of Gus (Walter Long), a black farmhand, and Ben dons a Ku Klux Klan mask both to avenge her death and to come to the rescue of his beloved girlfriend Elsie (Lillian Gish), who has been kidnapped by a corrupt mixed-race governor.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray / Collector's Edition</i>

Made for the arts programme 'Monitor', 'Elgar' (1962) dramatises the life of English composer Sir Edward Elgar (George McGrath) and tells the story of his music in a series of visualisations. 'The Debussy Film' (1965), which was also made for the 'Monitor' programme, chronicles the life of French composer Claude Debussy (Oliver Reed). Meanwhile, a director (Vladek Sheybal) struggles to make his own film about Debussy's life. Made for the 'Omnibus' arts series, 'Song of Summer' (1968) depicts the last five years of Frederick Delius (Max Adrian)'s life as the devoted, young composer Eric Fenby (Christopher Gable) aids him in completing his final, unfinished scores.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray / with DVD - Double Play</i>

In 'Manila in the Claws of Light' (1975) young Júlio Madiaga (Bembol Roco) leaves his rural home and travels to the urban sprawl of Manila. He picks up a job as a construction worker, but is not accustomed to such hard labour and so he struggles at first. Júlio begins to make friends and spend time in the markets. On one such outing, he meets someone who could point him in the direction of the woman Júlio loves, a girl named Ligaya Paraiso (Hilda Koronel) who also came to Manila in the hopes of a good education. But just as Júlio and Ligaya begin to reconnect, the criminal underbelly of the city makes itself known to them. In 'Insiang' (1976) the titular character (Koronel) is a young woman living with her bitter mother Tonya (Mona Lisa) in a slum. Tonya's husband left her some time ago but his family remained with her, until now. Tonya casts them out to make way for her new boyfriend, a terrible bully named Dado (Ruel Vernal) who is far younger than her. Insiang is forced to flee her home but finds no solace in her friend Bebot (Rez Cortez).<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray / with DVD - Double Play</i>
