Meanwhile, Rokurota Makabe (Mifune), a renowed Akizuki general, is attempting to escort Princess Yuki (Misa Uehara) to safety. When he encounters the two peasants, he realises they may be useful to him but as the four of them travel together, they face many challenges and Tahei and Matashichi's cowardice and greed could jeopardise Makabe's mission. Having been drafted by the Army naive farm hand Claude Bukowski (Savage) makes his way to New York where he encounters a commune of hippies, led by the charismatic George Berger (Williams), who discourage him from enlisting and expose him to an alternative lifestyle. Takashi Shimura plays the drunken angel of the title, a doctor working in a devastatingly poor area of immediately-post-war Tokyo. The area is overrun with competing gangsters who have lost most of their power during the American occupation. Toshiro Mifune - in the first leading role that made him a star - plays a handsome young hoodlum who one night comes to the doctor's surgery with a small bullet wound in his hand. The doctor treats the wound but also diagnoses Mifune as having tuberculosis. The gangster's arrogance prevents him from acknowledging his illness, but his position within his organisation increasingly comes under threat.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>

In this tale of revenge, Koichi Nishi (Toshiro Mifune) obtains a position as private scretary to Iwabuchi (Masayuki Mori), the government official he suspects killed his father. Nishi then marries Iwabuchi's daughter and plans a fitting retribution.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>

Wealthy business executive Kingo Gondo (Mifune) faces a terrible choice when a kidnapper snatches the son of his chauffeur Aoki (Yutaka Sada) instead of his own son. If he pays the ransom he will be ruined financially but if he does not, he will be unable to face his family or Aoki. Meanwhile, police led by Inspector Tokura (Tatsuya Nakadai) investigate the crime. The cast also includes Kyôko Kagawa, Isao Kimura and Tsutomu Yamazaki.<br/><br/><i>Typ: Blu-ray</i>

Noriko, however, sees no reason to disrupt the harmony of the family home and repeatedly insists that marriage is not for her.
