Determined to free the townsfolk from the oppressive grip of the gangsters, Sanjuro sparks open war between the two sides in the hope that they will destroy each other. However, his plans are complicated by the arrival of Unosuke (Nakadai), the younger brother of one of the gang leaders who prefers guns to swords and upsets the balance of power in the town. When he encounters the two peasants, he realises they may be useful to him but as the four of them travel together, they face many challenges and Tahei and Matashichi's cowardice and greed could jeopardise Makabe's mission. Wandering samurai Sanjuro Tsubaki (Mifune) encounters a clan of samurai who have been betrayed by the local superintendent. They had intended to present a formal accusation of corruption within their clan but would have been crushed by the superintendent's men had Sanjuro not defended them. Sanjuro soon finds himself embroiled in a plot to kidnap the local chamberlain and facilitate a power grab by the superintendent, but jaded as he is, Sanjuro feels he must also object to the behaviour of his fellow samurai. Takashi Shimura plays the drunken angel of the title, a doctor working in a devastatingly poor area of immediately-post-war Tokyo. The area is overrun with competing gangsters who have lost most of their power during the American occupation. Toshiro Mifune - in the first leading role that made him a star - plays a handsome young hoodlum who one night comes to the doctor's surgery with a small bullet wound in his hand. The doctor treats the wound but also diagnoses Mifune as having tuberculosis. The gangster's arrogance prevents him from acknowledging his illness, but his position within his organisation increasingly comes under threat.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>

In this tale of revenge, Koichi Nishi (Toshiro Mifune) obtains a position as private scretary to Iwabuchi (Masayuki Mori), the government official he suspects killed his father. Estate agent Jonathan Harker (Bruno Ganz) arrives at Count Dracula (Klaus Kinski)'s castle in Transylvania to complete the sale of a property Dracula is purchasing in the town of Wismar in Germany. Despite having been warned that the Count is a vampire, Jonathan remains skeptical but his time at the castle soon rids him of any doubt as to Dracula's true nature. In an attempt to escape he injures himself and is hospitalised while Dracula moves to Wismar and preys on Jonathan's wife Lucy (Isabelle Adjani)...<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>
