In 'Before Sunrise' (1995) American student Jesse is travelling his way around Europe. He strikes up a conversation on a train with a young Parisian woman and on the spur of the moment invites her to spend the day with him in Vienna. As the day wears on, a casual acquaintance turns into something more profound. In 'Before Sunset' (2004) Jesse and Céline cross paths again in Paris where they get the chance to catch up on all that has occurred in their lives since their first meeting. Jesse, now married with a young child, has become a successful novelist. He is on a whirlwind European tour when he stops off at a bookshop in Paris, and Céline, who now works for an environmental organisation, comes to the reading. In the 80 minutes before his plane leaves the two stroll around the streets of Paris and discuss their views, experiences, hopes and dreams. Finally, in 'Before Midnight' (2013), 18 years have passed since Jesse and Céline first met. Jesse's novel based on the experience became a US bestseller and led him to meet Céline again after an interval of almost a decade, where the spark of their initial encounter was still present. Now the couple are living in Paris, proud parents to two young girls. However, their lives are far from perfect. Frustrated at her inability to match Jesse's professional success, Céline is considering a change in career. Jesse, meanwhile, is struggling to connect with his teenage son Hank (Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick), who is visiting from Chicago for the summer.

Typ: Blu-ray / Box Set

'Emitai' (1971) chronicles attempts made by the French army to conscript soldiers and commandeer supplies from the Diola tribe during World War II. As the male elders pray to Emitai, the God of Thunder, the women hide their rice harvest. However, when their resistance incurs the wrath of the French soldiers, violence ensues. 'Xala' (1975) is a satirical comedy based on Sembène's novel of the same name. Upon the occasion of his third marriage, El Hadji (Thierno Leye) is rendered impotent and believes that he has been cursed by either his first or second wife. As he attempts to remove the curse, his wealth and influence begin to fade, for as he eventually comes to realise, he has brought this affliction upon himself as a consequence of his own actions. Finally, in 'Ceddo' (1977), the Ceddo struggle to preserve their way of life which is under threat from the growing influence of Christianity and Islam and the rise of the slave trade. When their king converts to Islam, they kidnap his daughter, but their conflict erupts into war that may not end even if she is returned.

Typ: Blu-ray / Box Set (Restored)

In 'Samurai I: Musashi Miyamoto' (1954), orphan Musashi Miyamoto (Toshirô Mifune) leaves his home village to join the army with his best friend Honiden Matahachi (Rentarô Mikuni) who is betrothed to local girl Otsu (Kaoru Yachigusa). While they are away, Matahachi is seduced by another woman, and when Miyamoto returns to the village alone to break the news, Matahachi's family accuse him of telling lies and sentence him to death. He is rescued by a Buddhist monk and educated in the ways of the Samurai, but as he becomes proficient in his art, Miyamoto is forced to choose between the way of the warrior and the possibility of happiness with Otsu, who has now fallen in love with him... In 'Samurai II: Duel at Ichijoji Temple' (1955), after years on the road perfecting his sword fighting skills, Miyamoto returns to his home village to find his former love Otsu still waiting for him patiently. However, the Samurai warrior is disinterested in love and only interested in defending his reputation by taking on students from the local fencing school. In 'Samurai III: Duel at Ganru Island' (1956), Miyamoto renounces his quest for fame in favour of the search for inner truth, but after settling down in a quiet peasant village, he is forced to take up arms when his sanctuary is attacked by marauding bandits.

Typ: Blu-ray / Restored
