Following her decision to pursue a music career full-time, Joplin joined the blues rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company and shortly after embarked upon her own highly successful and influential solo career, which she continued until her untimely death at the age of 27 in 1970. What transpires is a surreal and harrowing look at one of the most terrible acts of genocide which encourages reflection not only from the spectator but the participants themselves.
