When she refuses this assistance Chan stages a mock assassination attempt in order to have her comply. However, after discovering Chan's ruse Selina does not attend the trial and Chu Tao is released on bail. With Chu Tao back on the streets Selina is in more danger than ever before. Can Chan protect her as well as bring Chu Tao to justice? In the sequel, 'Police Story 2' (1988), Chan has been demoted to traffic duties following his heavy-handed manner. In 'Warriors Two' (1978) cashier Hua (Casanova Wong) overhears a gang plotting to commit a murder in an attempt to take over the town and he quickly warns others nearby. Unaware that one of those people is actually involved in the plot, the gang then make an attempt on Hua's life. Managing to escape and go into hiding, Hua then learns kung fu from local doctor and Wing Chun master Mr. Tsan (Bryan Leung) and, with the gang still on his trail, Hua and his friends must use their Wing Chun style of fighting to battle it out. In 'The Prodigal Son' (1981) Yuen Biao stars as Leung Chang, a tardy kung fu student from a wealthy family. He puts little effort into his studies but still continues to beat his opponents as his father always pays them to take a fall. When her father is murdered, China decides to run for sheriff and take a stand against Sommers. In 'China O'Brien II' (1990) the safety of Beaver Creek is jeopardised once again when fugitive drug lord Charlie Baskin (Harlow Marks) comes to town seeking revenge against a former associate who testified against him. When his Aunt Yee (Rosamund Kwan) returns from America, Wong must use his fighting skills to protect her as fierce battles between local and foreign forces intensify. In 'Once Upon a Time in China II' (1992) Wong faces the White Lotus Society, who are carrying out a host of attacks on anyone who is influenced by Western culture. He also encounters revolutionary Sun Yat-Sen (Zhang Tielin), who is trying to establish a Chinese Republic and Wong offers to protect him. Finally, in 'Once Upon a Time in China III' (1992) a competition is staged in Beijing to showcase Chinese martial arts in an attempt to restore national pride.
