In 'D-Day, the Sixth of June' (1956) a British and an American soldier (Robert Taylor and Richard Todd), both in love with the same woman (Dana Wynter), are travelling to Normandy in 1944. Both fully aware of the dangers of the impending invasion, they stave off fear by reminiscing about their romances.<br/><br/>'The Longest Day' (1962) sees an all-star international cast re-tell the events of the Allied Landings in Normandy in 1944. John Wayne, Robert Mitchum and Henry Fonda head the cast. 'A Bridge Too Far' (1977) is Richard Attenborough's account of the failed 1944 Arnhem assault.<br/><br/>Dirk Bogarde, James Caan, Robert Redford and Sean Connery are among those battling against insurmountable odds to secure one of the bridges essential to the Allied advance into Germany. The life and times of America's most famous modern general, George Patton (George C. Scott), are recreated in 'Patton' (1970), a biographical drama which focuses on his controversial exploits during the Second World War.<br/><br/>Guy Hamilton's classic war film 'Battle of Britain' (1969) looks at how England defended itself from the German aerial onslaught in the summer of 1940. Laurence Olivier plays Sir Hugh Dowding, the chief air marshal whose fleet outmanoeuvre the Luftwaffe, despite a numerical disadvantage. George Segal and Robert Vaughn star in John Guillermin's 'The Bridge at Remagen' (1969), telling the story of the day that the Nazis blew up the last remaining bridge over the Rhine, leaving their own men stranded on the wrong side.<br/><br/>In 'Attack' (1956), a group of American soldiers find themselves trapped by the Germans during the Battle of the Bulge. The situation reaches a crisis point when their cowardly and indecisive captain (Eddie Albert) eventually flips into sheer panic. 'Von Ryan's Express' (1965) tells the story of US pilot Colonel Joseph Ryan (Frank Sinatra) who is shot down and placed in a German POW camp.<br/><br/>Although Joseph is more concerned with his own survival than actually breaking free from the camp, he unpredictably gets chosen as leader of a daring escape attempt, facing many hazards along the way.

Den är fortsättning på miniserien V från 1983.<br/>Motståndsrörelsen i Los Angeles fortsätter sin kamp mot de invaderande utomjordingarna och upptäcker också att inte alla utomjordingar tycker att invasionen är rättfärdigad. Till exempel ansluter sig en av utomjordingarna, Willie, till motståndsrörelsen.<br/><br/>V TV series (1984)<br/><br/>De kom för att få vatten och föda. Och det var vi som var födan. Men mänskligheten gjorde tappert motstånd - en kamp som skildras i miniserierna V och V - Den sista striden. Men kriget fortsätter. Den heroiska kampen får en överraskande upplösning i V: The Complete Series, komplett och oklippt med hela 13 avsnitt. Kampen utkämpas återigen på jorden. Men utomjordingarna, vars mänskliga förklädnad döljer deras sanna reptilväsen, har blivit klokare.

Allt Clara önskar sig är en väldigt speciell nyckel som kan låsa upp en ask vilken innehåller en ovärderlig gåva från hennes döda mor. Där möter Clara soldaten Phillip, ett gäng möss och regenterna som härskar över tre av världarna: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers och Land of Sweets. För att få tag i nyckeln måste Clara och Phillip bege sig till den olycksbådande fjärde världen som styrs av tyrannen Mother Ginger.

Freddy is out to exact his revenge on the children of those who burned him alive in retribution for his crimes, and the only way to avoid his reprisals is to avoid sleep - but Nancy knows that she can't stay awake for ever. The sequel 'Freddy's Revenge' is set five years after the original. The Walsh family have now moved into the house formerly owned by the Thompsons, and it is not long before teenage son Jesse (Mark Patton) is having bad dreams. He and girlfriend Lisa attempt to work out what is happening to him, but before long Jesse becomes convinced that Freddy has taken over his body in order to continue his murderous rampage. The second sequel, 'Dream Warriors', features the return of Nancy from the first film, now a psychiatric doctor. She teams up with Dr Neil Goldman (Craig Wasson) when a group of teenagers at his hospital begin to suffer a shared nightmare, and soon realises that Freddy has returned to continue wreaking his revenge on the descendants of those who killed him. By the fourth film, 'The Dream Master', Freddy has killed off all the children of those who originally burnt him to death. Now he's starting to kill their teenage friends. Luckily, Alice Johnson (Lisa Wilcox), one of the endangered kids, has the special ability to bring others into her dreams. She is the Dream Master, and therefore the only one who can stop the razor-fingered prankster from wreaking more of his murderous havoc. In 'The Dream Child', Alice is expecting a baby. Unfortunately for her, the meddlesome Freddy finds out about this and begins to control the foetus's dreams, hoping that the birth will be his means of returning to the land of the living. So the Dream Master sets to work, taking the battle to Krueger one final time. In 'Freddy's Dead - The Final Nightmare', having wiped out all the children in his home town, dreamstalking psychokiller Freddy decides it is time to head for pastures new. Luckily for him, he happens across a home for troubled teens and is soon indulging his unspeakable appetites once again. This was originally intended to be the final instalment in the 'Nightmare on Elm Street' series, but director Wes Craven was unable to resist bringing Freddy back one more time in his 1994 'Wes Craven's New Nightmare', a coda to the series in which Craven and his producer play themselves, persuading the now grown-up Heather Langenkamp (of the first film) to return to Elm Street one more time.
