Digipack.<br/><br/>Att kombinera klassik musik och jazz är ett vågstycke som inte alltid lyckas. Anledningen är att musikformerna har skilda strukturer. Strikt noterad musik möter improviserad musik vilket kräver mycket av parterna. En av stilarterna kan lätt hamna i ett underläge som stryper spontaniteten i spelet så att musiken enkelt uttryckt får gå på konstgjord andning. Tack och lov finns det berikande undantag! Klarinettisten Staffan Mårtensson (till vardags i Hovkapellet Stockholm), pianisten Lennart Simonsson och basisten Jan Adefelt har inte gått in i fällan. Tvärtom, de har fogat samman komponenterna seriöst utan ta till nötta klichéer. Här skapar musikernas närmanden till materialet intima vibbar. Ingen av stilriktningarna naggas i kanten och kommer på mellanhand. Albumet innehåller bl.a jazzteman som There'll Never Be Another You, 'Round Midnight, Charlie Mingus bluesiga Nostalgia In Times Square och Quincy Jones Stockholm Sweetnin'. Folkmusikton finner man i Emigrantvisa och Visa från Rättvik. Från den klassiska melodiboken plockas Faurés Sicilienne opus 78.
