Finally, in 'Scary Movie 3' (2003), now out of college, Cindy has become a TV news reporter out to find a hard-hitting news story. In '10 Cloverfield Lane' (2016) a young woman (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) wakes up following a car crash to find herself a captive in the cellar of a man named Howard (John Goodman), who assures her he has saved her from the outside world which is no longer safe due to a chemical attack now making it uninhabitable. However, she soon begins to question his story and decides that she must see the outside world for herself. Finally, in 'The Cloverfield Paradox' (2017) a team of astronauts aboard a space station are left stranded in an alternate dimension after a scientific experiment used to solve the energy crisis on Earth has failed.
