In 'Star Trek: Generations' (1994) Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) reluctantly comes out of retirement to attend the launch of the USS Enterprise-B. When the ship attempts to rescue two cargo ships trapped in a strange electrical field, part of its structure is shorn away, taking Kirk with it. 78 years later, USS Enterprise-D captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) is mourning the deaths of his brother and nephew when he is called to investigate an attack on the Amagosa Observatory. The culprits are revealed to be the Klingons, allied with sinister El-Aurian scientist Dr Soran (Malcolm McDowell). Soran was amongst those rescued by the Enterprise-B, and is now desperate to return to the energy field known as the Nexus. When Picard himself enters the Nexus, a historic encounter takes place. In 'Star Trek: First Contact' (1996) Captain Jean-Luc Picard, once assimilated by the alien Borg, now senses that they are about to return. He is proved correct when the Collective engage the USS Enterprise-E in battle, only to escape through a temporal vortex into the Earth's past. Picard and his crew glimpse an alternative Earth which is dominated by the Borg and, in an attempt to find out how the Borg have altered the timeline, follow them back to the year 2063, one day before Zefram Cochrane (James Cromwell) made the first warp drive journey. It was this event that attracted the attention of some passing Vulcans and established Earth's first contact with alien life. While Riker (Jonathan Frakes) leads an away team to prevent the Borg from tampering with the Earth's history, Picard must repel a Borg invasion of the Enterprise. In 'Star Trek: Insurrection' (1998) a Federation team are unobtrusively observing life on the remarkable world of Ba'ku, where 600 peaceful inhabitants enjoy the planet's youth-preserving qualities. However, forces within the alliance want to repatriate the population so that the planet's resources can be intensively exploited. Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) leads his crew in an effort to protect Ba'ku's residents and thereby honour the Federation's Prime Directive: non-intervention in the development of other civilizations. Finally, in 'Star Trek: Nemesis' (2002), when Picard and the crew of the USS Enterprise discover a disassembled prototype of their android colleague Data (Brent Spiner) on a distant planet, they take the parts back to the Enterprise and attempt to put them back together. Meanwhile, news arrives that the new Romulan leader Shinzon (Tom Hardy) wants to restore relations with the Federation and Picard is sent to negotiate. In 'Transformers' (2007) a battle rages between two camps of an alien race from the planet Cybertron - the Autobots and the evil Decepticons. In an effort to prevent the Decepticons from gaining possession of the Allspark, a cube with the capacity to grant infinite power, the Autobots managed to smuggle the object to Earth, where they secretly hid it. Now, hundreds of years later, with the Decepticons searching for the cube, the Autobots enlist the help of young earthling Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) to help foil the Decepticons' plans for world domination. In 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' (2009), after he glimpses the truth about the ancient origins of the Transformers through a powerful vision sent to him by the Allspark, Sam once again finds himself the target of the evil Decepticons, who have returned to Earth under the command of the formidable Starscream (voice of Charles Adler). Joining the Autobots' mission to protect humankind is Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen), who forms an alliance with international armies for this second epic battle. In 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' (2011), when the Autobots discover that a Cybertronian spacecraft is hidden on the Moon, a race against the Decepticons ensues as both sides battle to reach it first. In 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' (2014), four years after the invasion of Chicago, mechanic and single parent Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) discovers what he believes to be a dilapidated truck and takes it home to repair. However, what he really has resting in his garage is a deactivated Optimus Prime. When government officials learn of the discovery they try to push humanitarian boundaries in the name of scientific development. Finally, in 'Transformers: The Last Knight' (2017), with the battle between the human race and the Transformers raging on, mechanic Cade Yeager forms an alliance with English Lord Sir Edmund Burton (Anthony Hopkins) in an attempt to figure out why the Transformers keep returning to Earth. Meanwhile, Autobots leader Optimus Prime learns he was responsible for the death of his home world Cybertron. In 'Scream' (1996) a psychotic killer with a love of horror movies murders teenager Casey Becker (Drew Barrymore) in the small Californian town of Woodsboro. As a media circus descends on the town, the killer begins terrorising Casey's high school classmate, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), whose mother was murdered a year earlier. When Sidney encounters the stalker and escapes, her boyfriend Billy (Skeet Ulrich) is arrested on suspicion of murder. However, the phone calls and killings continue, and so Sidney and her friends consult the rules of horror films as they try to unmask the killer before they strike again. 'Scream 2' (1997), takes place a year later and survivors Sidney and Randy Meeks (Jamie Kennedy) are now students at the same college. A movie based on the Woodsboro murders, 'Stab', sparks a series of copycat killings, and soon the nightmare is beginning all over again. While Sidney wonders who she can really trust, Randy teams up with former police deputy Dewey (David Arquette), still recovering from the effects of his stabbing the first time round, to work out the rules of a real-life horror sequel. Finally, in 'Scream 3' (2000), talk show host Cotton Weary (Liev Schreiber) - the man once wrongly suspected of carrying out the first of the notorious Woodsboro killings - is himself murdered by a masked figure, plenty of free publicity is provided for 'Stab 3 - Return to Woodsboro'. Desperate for money, Gillis agrees to work on her screenplay for a project about Salome, which Norma intends to serve as her comeback. However, Gillis gradually becomes trapped in Norma's bizarre fantasy world and when he tries to leave, the consequences are devastating.
