'Szindbád' (1971) recounts the life and loves of ageing womaniser Szindbád (Zoltán Latinovits). As he looks back on his life and faces his own mortality, Szindbád realises that his aversion to emotional attachment has left him with a life devoid of real love or meaning. 'Csontváry' (1979) depicts the life of Tivadar Csontváry Kosztka (Itzhak Fintzi), who left his position as a pharmacist to become an artist. As Csontváry pursues his passion and travels in search of inspiration, Z (also Fintzi), a successful actor due to play Csontváry on stage, struggles to understand the man he must portray. Living in a small village in the woods surrounding a grand castle, Popelka (Libuse Safránková) is forced to work as a servant undertaking menial tasks for her stepmother (Carola Braunbock). One day while out riding in the forest, she comes across a prince (Pavel Trávnícek) and his hunting party. After impressing the prince with her excellent hunting skills and charming him with her witty retorts, Popelka playfully dismisses his advances before returning home to her village. Years later, with Lili now a revolutionary planning to use a bomb to assassinate a leading politician, she meets Z (Oleg Yankovskiy) while travelling to complete the job. However, not long after the pair get together, things begin to get complicated as Z then has a chance meeting with Dóra on a boat, and mistaking her for Lili, invites her back to his cabin. When Lili is then unable to go through with her plan, she seeks refuge in a safe house where she meets Z and also runs into Dóra for the first time since they became separated years earlier.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD</i>
