In 'High Treason' (1951), after the destruction of the SS Asia Star in London Docks, Commander 'Robbie' Brennan (Liam Redmond) joins forces with Special Branch and MI5 to investigate an underground terrorist group plotting acts of sabotage. They discover that the group are planning an attack on a power station. Can they stop them before it's too late? In 'The Big Chance' (1957), fed up with living his mundane life, travel agency employee Bill Anderson (William Russell) siezes his opportunity for a change when a customer returns tickets to Panama. Bill decides to take the tickets and go to Panama himself. While at the airport, however, he is distracted by the alluring Diana Maxwell (Adrienne Corri). When the flight is delayed until the following day, Diana manages to get Bill involved in all manner of misadventures. Will he be glad of this change from the humdrum of his daily existence? In 'Dublin Nightmare' (1958), adapted from the novel by Robin Estridge, Steve Lawlor (Richard Leech) is reported dead following a car accident after he helped a Republican gang rob a Northern Irish security vehicle. The loot has gone missing and while the gang believe the car passenger Danny O'Callaghan (Pat O'Sullivan) has betrayed them, Lawlor's former girlfriend is convinced he is still alive. His photographer friend John Kevin (William Sylvester) investigates. In 'Deadly Nightshade' (1953) Robert Matthews (Emrys Jones) is arrested in Cornwall when he is mistaken for convict John Barlow, to whom he bears a striking resemblance. When Barlow (also Jones) hears of this, he makes his way to the man's cottage and takes his place. After surviving a local shipwreck Robert's fiancée Ann Farrington (Zena Marshall) is taken in by Barlow, who maintains his imposture but soon discovers that Matthews is not all he seems.

Typ: DVD

In 'A Is for Acid' (2002), after mistakenly believing a Latin term to mean that murder can only be proven with the evidence of a body, John George Haigh (Martin Clunes) discovers a way to get rid of potential victims by using sulphuric acid. He first kills his friend, Donald McSwan (Neil McKinven), in order to assume control of his business, but in order to increase his finances Haigh takes a number of further victims. When those who knew the deceased become suspicious a criminal investigation is launched and it looks as though Haigh's murderous ways will finally be put to a stop. 'Harold Shipman - Doctor Death' (2002) follows the story of Dr. Harold Shipman (James Bolam), a general practitioner who throughout his career is believed to have killed as many as 250 of his patients. When the high death rate of his practice was investigated, it was discovered that he had given lethal doses of diamorphine to a vast number of his patients. He was put on trial where he was convicted of 15 murders and sentenced to life imprisonment. In 'The Brides in the Bath' (2003), in order to accumulate wealth George Joseph Smith (Martin Kemp) commits bigamy under various pseudonyms and kills three of his wives between 1910 and 1915. He tries to make it look as though the women died by accidentally drowning in their bathtubs but the deaths are eventually linked with Detective Inspector Arthur Neil (Alan Mckenna) working to solve the case.

Typ: DVD

In 'The Man Who Liked Funerals' (1959) Simon Hurd (Phillips) takes it upon himself to raise the necessary finances to keep the local youth club open. But he uses a peculiar technique to do so - he attends funerals and blackmails mourners into giving him money by threatening to reveal unfortunate stories about them to the press. However, he may regret his pitches after potentially meeting his match... In 'Don't Just Lie There, Say Something' (1974) Phillips stars as Sir William Mainwaring-Brown, a Government minister with a roving eye who has just introduced a bill to combat libertarian behaviour in Britain. Sir William, however, is having affairs with both his secretary Miss Parkyn (Joanna Lumley) and Wendy (Anita Graham), the wife of an eminent reporter. A group of hippies who oppose the bill seek to derail his campaign by discrediting co-founders Sir William and his best friend Barry Ovis (Brian Rix). In 'In the Doghouse' (1962) Phillips and James Booth star as rival vets. After ten long years of training, Jimmy Fox-Upton (Phillips) finally qualifies as a vet and opens his own practice. Settled in London, Jimmy opposes the money-grabbing ways of his fellow graduate Bob Skeffington (Booth) and sets about exposing his lucrative equine export scam.

Typ: DVD / Box Set

In 'Simba' (1955) a man travels to post-colonial Africa to visit his brother, only to find out that he has been killed by a Kenyan rebel group. When Alan Howard (Dirk Bogarde) arrives in Africa, he soon learns his brother has been killed by the Mau Mau, a group of rebels who are fighting against the newly imposed rule of the white man. Enraged by his brother's murder, Alan decides to stay and put all his energy into fighting the Mau Mau, who he now considers his enemy. However, along the way he falls in love with a neighbouring settler called Mary (Virginia McKenna), who disagrees with his abhorrence of the native people, and tries to put an end to his prejudices. In 'The Heart Within' (1957) young Danny Willard (David Hemmings) and his grandfather (James Hayter) become involved in exposing a smuggling ring after they befriend West Indian immigrant Victor Conway (Cameron). Victor has been accused of murdering a local criminal and because of the colour of his skin he is immediately considered guilty. However, with the help of Danny, who witnessed what really happened, they set about attempting to expose the true culprits. In 'Sapphire' (1959), set in London, the death occurs of a young woman named Sapphire (Yvonne Buckingham). However, the investigating officers, Superintendent Hazard (Nigel Patrick) and Inspector Learoyd (Michael Craig), do very little to solve the case until Sapphire's brother Dr. Robbins (Cameron) turns up forcing the officers to acknowledge the racism present within their community, as well as their own personal prejudices. Finally, in 'Flame in the Streets' (1961) union leader Jacko Palmer (John Mills) has to confront the bigotry of his members when a black foreman (Cameron) is appointed, and the members threaten to strike. However, when he discovers that his daughter (Sylvia Sims) wants to marry Jamaican schoolteacher Peter Lincoln (Johnny Sekka) Jacko must looks inwards and confront his own issues with accepting diversity.

Typ: DVD / Box Set
