In 'High Treason' (1951), after the destruction of the SS Asia Star in London Docks, Commander 'Robbie' Brennan (Liam Redmond) joins forces with Special Branch and MI5 to investigate an underground terrorist group plotting acts of sabotage. They discover that the group are planning an attack on a power station. Can they stop them before it's too late? In 'The Big Chance' (1957), fed up with living his mundane life, travel agency employee Bill Anderson (William Russell) siezes his opportunity for a change when a customer returns tickets to Panama. Bill decides to take the tickets and go to Panama himself. While at the airport, however, he is distracted by the alluring Diana Maxwell (Adrienne Corri). When the flight is delayed until the following day, Diana manages to get Bill involved in all manner of misadventures. Will he be glad of this change from the humdrum of his daily existence? In 'Dublin Nightmare' (1958), adapted from the novel by Robin Estridge, Steve Lawlor (Richard Leech) is reported dead following a car accident after he helped a Republican gang rob a Northern Irish security vehicle. The loot has gone missing and while the gang believe the car passenger Danny O'Callaghan (Pat O'Sullivan) has betrayed them, Lawlor's former girlfriend is convinced he is still alive. His photographer friend John Kevin (William Sylvester) investigates. In 'Deadly Nightshade' (1953) Robert Matthews (Emrys Jones) is arrested in Cornwall when he is mistaken for convict John Barlow, to whom he bears a striking resemblance. When Barlow (also Jones) hears of this, he makes his way to the man's cottage and takes his place. After surviving a local shipwreck Robert's fiancée Ann Farrington (Zena Marshall) is taken in by Barlow, who maintains his imposture but soon discovers that Matthews is not all he seems.

Typ: DVD

In 'Fast and Loose' (1954) Peter Wickham (Brian Reece) is due to meet his wife Barbara (June Thorburn) on a train when he encounters old flame Carol (Kay Kendall) at the station bookstall. Peter misses the train and he and Carol set off in pursuit, only to end up spending the night together in an inhospitable hotel. Their complicated situation becomes worse when Peter's in-laws and Carol's husband arrive. In 'Jumping for Joy' (1956), when handyman Willie Joy (Frankie Howerd) is sacked from his position at a greyhound stadium he adopts wounded hound Lindy Lou, who is due to be put down. In 'The Happy Family' (1952), set in the aftermath of WWII, Mr and Mrs Lord (Holloway and Kathleen Harrison) refuse to relocate their corner shop following a government plan to build a Festival Hall on the South Bank. When presented with the eviction order the family barricade themselves into the shop, forcing the bailiffs to come up with another way to have them removed. Finally, in 'A Day to Remember' (1953) a group of darts players from the same pub decide to take a day trip to France. While some are going to France for the darts, one man plans to buy cheap watches and smuggle them back to Britain for a profit. Jim Carver (Donald Sinden) has a more sombre intention, having fought in France during the war, he heads to a nearby cemetery to pay his respects to a fallen comrade. Along the way he bumps into Martine (Odile Versois), a Frenchwoman he used to know. OBS! Import. Kontrollera att språk och textning passar dig.

Four British dramas from the 1970s. In 'Quest for Love' (1971) Joan Collins stars as a woman who becomes the object of a scientist's desire in two different realities. Scientist Colin Trafford (Tom Bell) is caught up in an experiment that goes wrong and is transported to an alternative reality in which World War II and the Moon landings never happened. In this new reality he is an author rather than a scientist and is married to the beautiful Ottilie (Collins), who despises him. Colin strives to win Ottilie's affection and is on the verge of succeeding when he is returned to the ordinary world. Colin then embarks on a desperate quest to be reunited with his love. In 'That's Your Funeral' (1972), starring Bill Fraser and Raymond Huntley, undertakers Basil Bulstrode (Fraser) and Emmanuel Holroyd (Huntley) are overjoyed when they are called upon to bury their chief rival. However, when new businessmen move in and use the funeral parlour as a front to smuggle drugs a new war for custom ensues between the two businesses. In 'Don't Just Lie There, Say Something' (1973) Leslie Phillips stars as Sir William Mainwaring-Brown, a government minister with a roving eye who has just introduced a bill to combat libertarian behaviour in Britain. Despite this, Sir William is having affairs with both his secretary Miss Parkyn (Joanna Lumley) and Wendy (Anita Graham), the wife of an eminent reporter. Prominent libertarian protestors do their best to derail William's campaign by discrediting him and his best friend Barry Ovis (Brian Rix). Finally, in 'Nothing But the Night' (1973), starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, a police officer and a psychiatrist must work together to try and get to the bottom of strange happenings on a remote Scottish island. An orphanage on the island comes to the attention of police colonel Charles Bingham (Lee) when three of its trustees are found dead in a short space of time. Though initial evidence suggests that the deaths were suicides, Bingham is suspicious and enlists the help of Sir Mark Ashley (Cushing) to try and get to the bottom of the mystery.

Typ: DVD / Box Set
