In 'The Secret of the Kells' (2009), young orphan Brendan (voice of Evan McGuire) is the nephew of the strict and over-protective Abbot Cellach (Brendan Gleeson). The Abbot is obsessed with building a wall to protect the township of Kells from the marauding Vikings. When Brendan meets Brother Aidan (Mick Lally), a monk from the island of Iona, he is fascinated by an unfinished book that Aidan has rescued from the Vikings, who have already destroyed the Iona monastery. To the displeasure of his uncle, Brendan shows great talent in drawing and enlists the help of magical forest sprite Aisling (Christen Mooney) to help him finish the book and become a master illuminator. In 'Song of the Sea' (2014), when a woman mysteriously disappears she leaves behind her husband Conor (Gleeson), son Ben (David Rawle) and newborn daughter Saoirse (Lucy O'Connell). Blaming her for the loss of their mother, Ben becomes resentful towards his little sister and doesn't treat her too kindly, but after it is discovered that Saoirse is actually a selkie, the siblings must team up and go on a journey, along with their sheepdog Cú, to help a group of mythical creatures return to their home. Finally, in 'Wolfwalkers' (2020), set in 17th century Kilkenny, while hunting in the woods surrounding her walled city, young apprentice Robyn Goodfellowe (Honor Kneafsey) discovers a young wolfwalker named Mebh (Eva Whittaker), who has the power to transform into a wolf when she sleeps. As they try to rescue Mebh's captive mother, Moll (Maria Doyle Kennedy), Robyn discovers she too has gained the magical powers of a wolfwalker and attempts to protect the endangered wolf pack from her own father, Bill (Sean Bean), who seeks to destroy them.<br/><br/><i>Typ: DVD / Box Set</i>

'Law of Desire' (1987) stars Antonio Banderas as Antonio Benítez, the obsessive fan of gay director Pablo Quintero (Eusebio Poncela) who accidently kills the director's new love interest in a jealous rage. In 'Women On the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown' (1988), distraught Pepa (Maura) considers suicide after her long-time lover leaves her without warning. In 'Kind Hearts and Coronets' (1949) an embittered aristocrat sets out to murder the eight heirs that stand between him and succession to the family title. Louis Mazzini (Dennis Price) holds no love for the family he counts as relations, the D'Ascoynes. The D'Ascoynes cast his mother out when she decided to marry a commoner, Louis's father, and on her death refused to allow her to be buried in the family vault. An outraged Louis vows revenge and begins working his way into the trust of the family to provide him with the opportunity to bump off the male heirs (all played by Alec Guinness) one by one. However, complications arise when he becomes romantically entangled with one of the widows of his victims, Edith D'Ascoyne (Valerie Hobson). Will Louis be able to stay the course and murder his way to a dukedom? In 'Passport to Pimlico' (1949) an unexploded bomb goes off in Pimlico, uncovering documents which reveal that this part of London in fact belongs to Burgundy in France. An autonomous state is set up in a spirit of optimism, but the petty squabbles of everyday life soon shatter the utopian vision of a non-restrictive nation. In 'Whisky Galore!' (1949), set during the Second World War, the inhabitants of a small Hebridean island are wilting under a chronic shortage of whisky. When a ship is wrecked on the shore, it is discovered to contain 50,000 cases of malt, which are promptly appropriated by the men of the island. All is well until an English Home Guard commander - determined to see the whisky restored to its rightful owners - calls in Her Majesty's Customs, and the islanders make frantic attempts to hide their treasured alcoholic booty! In 'The Man in the White Suite' (1951) Sidney Stratton (Guinness) is a laboratory cleaner in a textile factory who invents a material that will neither wear out nor become dirty. Initially hailed as a great discovery, Sidney's astonishing invention is suffocated by the management when they realise that if it never wears out, people will only ever have to purchase one suit of clothing. Finally, in 'The Ladykillers' (1955) a group of bank robbers struggle to silence the eccentric old lady who discovers their crime. Mrs Wilberforce (Katie Johnson) lives alone in King's Cross with her parrots. She has been led to believe that the group of men renting rooms from her, Professor Marcus (Guinness), the Major (Cecil Parker), Louis (Herbert Lom), Harry (Peter Sellers) and One-Round (Danny Green), are classical musicians. However, when one of the group's cases gets caught in the door and opens to reveal, not a musical instrument, but a plethora of banknotes, the virtuous Mrs Wilberforce vows to go to the police with the identities of the men. Commander Ericson (Jack Hawkins) has already lost one ship to an enemy attack when he is given command of the frigate Saltash Castle. A subsequent confrontation in the North Atlantic tests Ericson's leadership to the limit once again, as he risks sacrificing the lives of his crew for the greater good. 'The Dam Busters' (1955) follows Dr Barnes Wallis (Michael Redgrave), whose invention of the 'Bouncing Bomb' is greeted with scepticism in the Second World War. However, RAF Wing Commander Guy Gibson (Richard Todd) proves the bomb's worth in a daring mission to destroy the German Ruhr Dams. 'The Colditz Story' (1955) follows the experiences of Allied prisoners-of-war who were held in Colditz Castle. These POWs were strictly monitored as they were a high risk category and had constantly tried to escape whichever prison they were previously placed in. Despite being outnumbered by their guards, the prisoners of Colditz continued to strive to achieve their freedom. In 'Ice Cold in Alex' (1958) two English army officers (John Mills and Harry Andrews) and two young nurses (Sylvia Syms and Diane Clare) are driving an ambulance through occupied North Africa to Alexandria. Along the way they pick up a South African officer (Anthony Quayle), and more than once avoid capture and death while crossing the German lines. However, as the South African officer begins to undermine their confidence, they gradually come to suspect him of being a German spy. Finally, 'Cross of Iron' (1977) follows a doomed German platoon facing annihilation at the hands of the Russians in 1943. Non-Nazi German soldier Steiner (James Coburn) resents the arrival of arrogant Prussian Stransky (Maximillian Schell) as his new commanding officer. Stransky is desperate to win an Iron Cross - a medal Steiner has already earned, but considers worthless - and so promotes the highly-recommended Steiner to sergeant. During a siege, Stransky hides in his bunker, terrified of battle, only to later file a report claiming that he himself led a victorious counter-attack.
