Dolly Parton har skrivit mer än 3,000 låtar, har under åren haft mängder med ettor på topplistan och har vunnit ett oräkneligt antal Grammisar, CMA och ACM-statyetter.<br/><br/>Albumet "Backwoods Barbie" är producerat av bandledaren och gitarristen Kent Wells och låtarna är till största delen skrivna av Dolly själv. "The song 'Backwoods Barbie' pretty much says it all," säger hon. "I grew up poor and ragged, always dreamed of being beautiful like Barbie and the models in the Fredericks catalogue. It's true that the way I look is just a country girl's idea of glamour, but it comes from an honest place. Backwoods Barbie just seemed like such a perfect title for a country album for me." Förutom att ha gett namn till det nya albumet så är "Backwoods Barbie" även en av låtarna som är med i Broadwaymusikalen "9 to 5 The Musical". Dolly har skrivit all text och musik till musikalen.
