She recognises a fellow clairvoyant in little Carol Anne, but when the old woman dies, the spirits descend once more to claim the girl for their side. Finally, in 'Poltergeist III' (1988) Carol Anne has been sent to a special school for gifted but emotionally disturbed children whilst living with her aunt and uncle in Chicago.
