In Genesis' incredible body of work, 'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway' is a landmark record. Originally released on 22 November 1974, at the pinnacle of their early success, it came at a pivotal point in Genesis' history. It is rated as one of the greatest albums of its era and one of the most influential progressive rock albums of all time.<br/> <br/>'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition' is the album's definitive compendium, following the arc of the album's creation and tour. With input from all of the band members involved in the record - Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett and Mike Rutherford - it comes in 5LP+Blu Ray Audio and 4CD+Blu Ray Audio formats, both providing a deep dive into the music and visual elements around this album and includes;<br/><br/>- The original album mix, remastered at Abbey Road Studios by Miles Showell from the 1974 analogue tapes.<br/><br/>- A Blu-ray audio disc includes the remastered 96kHz/24-bit high resolution audio and Dolby ATMOS mixes of the studio album done by Bob Mackenzie at Real World Studios under the supervision of Peter Gabriel and Tony Banks.<br/><br/>- The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway Live At The Shrine Auditorium from January 24, 1975. It is remastered and includes two encore tracks 'Watcher of the Skies' and 'The Musical Box'. This is the first time the full live show, including the encore tracks, has been released in its entirety.<br/><br/>- Three never-before-released demos from the legendary Headley Grange Session, included as part of a digital download card with the full audio from the set.<br/><br/>- A 60-page coffee table style book with Alexis Petridis liner notes, who interviewed all five band members to tell the story of 'The Lamb...' - from the writing sessions to live performances - which is believed to be the only time this has happened since its original release. <br/><br/>- The book also features images from Armando Gallo, Richard Haines and other noted photographers. ROCK 'N' ROLL STAR!, containing 29 unreleased tracks, covers early songwriting demos, recordings from David's band, The Arnold Corns, rehearsals at Bowie's then-home, Haddon Hall, BBC sessions, singles, live performances, plus outtakes and alternative versions from the original album recording sessions, which have been newly mixed by original album producer, Ken Scott. <br/> <br/>Unreleased highlights include an alternative version of 'Lady Stardust', an unheard version of the deep-cut classic 'Shadow Man' and an up-tempo take of The Who's 'I Can't Explain', which he would later slow down and cover for the PIN-UPS album.<br/> <br/>The audio-only Blu-Ray disc features the definitive 2012 remaster of the original Ziggy Stardust album in 96kHz/24bit PCM stereo, plus the album and additional mixes from 2003 in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 as well as the singles, outtakes and alternative versions in 96kHz/24 bit PCM stereo.<br/> <br/>The Blu-Ray also includes a version of the ZIGGY STARDUST album called WAITING IN THE SKY (BEFORE THE STARMAN CAME TO EARTH) taken from Trident Studio tapes dated 15th December 1971, which features an alternative running order and four songs that didn't make the final album.<br/><br/>ROCK 'N' ROLL STAR! also contains two books. The first is an extensive 112-page book with detailed liner notes, memorabilia, contemporary reviews and articles, rare photographs from Barrie Wentzel, Michael Putland, Mick Rock, Sukita and Alec Byrne, as well as brand-new notes and interviews with Ken Scott, Mark Carr Pritchett and David's plugger from the time, Anya Wilson. Accompanying the main book is a 36-page compiled reproduction of David's personal Ziggy Stardust era notebooks. <br/> <br/>The first track taken from ROCK 'N' ROLL STAR! is 'ZIGGY STARDUST' (DEMO)' recorded by Bowie on vocal and acoustic guitar in March 1971 at Haddon Hall in Beckenham.

The artwork for the album has been updated for this Anniversary Edition. The cover is printed on special silver coated paper stock. <br/><br/>The set also includes a 7" single in a picture sleeve with two versions of album outtake "Wonderin'." Side A, originally included in The Archives Vol. 1: 1963-1972, was recorded in Topanga, California, in March 1970, and Side B is a previously unreleased version recorded at Sunset Sound in Hollywood in August 1969. A litho print of the album's front cover is exclusively included in this vinyl box set.
