‘Smokin’ Aces’ is an uplifting, contemporary fusion of genres and influence, distilling these sounds to create a timeless Acid Jazz album - ‘retrophonic but contemporary at the same time’ says Talbot. Recorded and developed over a 2-year spell, following the last album, the new record features 12 new tracks, with Bangs & Talbot joined by instrumentalists and voices from all over the world. Another important landmark in the careers of these two prolific artists, and the wider sounds of acid jazz.

Acid Jazz announce new signing Federation of the Disco Pimp, who return after a 5-year hiatus with the new album Gratuitous. Providing unstoppable grooves since 2010, Federation of the Disco Pimp are Scotland’s premier exponents of modern Funk. Combining elements of Old-School Funk, Disco, Psychedelic and Jazz, they are known for their endless energy and blistering live sets, and have been championed by Jazz FM and Craig Charles on BBC6Music. The new album features 11 new cuts, with guest appearances from soul singer Billy Valentine, James Brown trombonist Fred Wesley, and Prince/Cory Wong ‘HornHeads’ saxophonist Kenni Holmen.
