Workin' Man: Willie Sings Merle is Willie Nelson's 78th solo studio album and 155th album overall. It features Willie's new interpretations of classic songs written by Merle Haggard, the latest in Nelson's storied history of focusing entire albums on a single songwriter's or artist's work. Nelson and Haggard were longtime friends and collaborators who released three collaborative albums together: 1983's Pancho and Lefty, 2007's Last Of The Breed (alongside Ray Price) and 2015's Django and Jimmie. Eleven of Willie's favorite Merle compositions were handpicked for the album. Nelson's new performances include songs from various parts of the legend's career, from tracks off of Merle's first #1 Country album, 1966's Swinging Doors ("Swinging Doors," "Tonight The Bottle Let Me Down") and late 60s career defining hits ("Mama Tried," "Okie From Muskogee") to 70s classics (the heart-breaking holiday track "If We Make It Through December," the southern-rock tinged "Ramblin' Fever") and Merle's #1 honky-tonk classic from 1980 "I Think I'll Just Stay Here And Drink." Produced by the artist with longtime collaborator Mickey Raphael, the album was recorded at Nelson's Pedernales Studios in Austin and features the final recordings he did alongside longtime Family band members "Sister Bobbie" Nelson and Paul English. Constants in Nelson's personal and professional world longer than anyone, Sister Bobbie on piano and English on drums are joined by Raphael on harmonica, Kevin Smith on bass and Paul's brother Billy English on drums and percussion.

Paul Simon, who has consistently crafted some of the most influential and enduring work in the history of music, has announced the release of his highly anticipated musical work, Seven Psalms. Intended to be listened to as one continuous piece, the 33-minute, seven-movement composition transcends the concept of the "album". <br/> <br/>Recorded entirely on acoustic instruments, and predominantly performed by Paul, Seven Psalms showcases Simon's craft at its finest and most captivating, simply with his voice and guitar. <br/> <br/>A stunning, intricately layered work, it's a record which establishes an engaging and meditative, almost hymnal soundscape, with Paul's lyrics providing the gravitational center for constellations of sound woven from guitar strings and other acoustic instrumentation - including choral elements from the highly-regarded British vocal ensemble VOCES8, and a beautiful vocal appearance by Edie Brickell.<br/> <br/>True to the origin of psalms as hymns meant to be sung rather than spoken, Seven Psalms reaches back to the very genesis of folk music: King David's Psalms. The result is a quietly moving musical experience which uncovers a wealth of subtle details with every repeated listen. A step apart from anything Paul Simon has released before, Seven Psalms defies categorization. <br/> <br/>The record's tone is complemented by its artwork, which features a close-up extract of "Two Owls" by the celebrated landscape artist Thomas Moran.<br/>Produced by Paul Simon and Kyle Crusham, Seven Psalms is a single suite of music.

The album by David Gilmour, 'Luck and Strange' was recorded over five months in Brighton and London and is Gilmour's first album of new material in nine years. The record was produced by David and Charlie Andrew, best known for his work with ALT-J and Marika Hackman, with lyrics mostly written by Polly Samson, Gilmour's co-writer for the past thirty years. The album features eight new tracks along with a beautiful reworking of The Montgolfier Brothers' 'Between Two Points', which sees Romany Gilmour, who performs backing vocals across the album, and can also be heard on harp.<br/><br/>Musicians contributing to the record include Guy Pratt & Tom Herbert on bass, Adam Betts, Steve Gadd and Steve DiStanislao on drums, Rob Gentry & Roger Eno on keyboards and the string and choral arrangements are by Will Gardner. The title track also features the late Pink Floyd keyboard player Richard Wright, recorded in 2007 during a 'Barn Jam' at David's house. The album's cover image, photographed and designed by renowned artist Anton Corbijn, is inspired by lyrics written by Charlie Gilmour for the album's final song 'Scattered'.
