"Gonna hang on a little bit longer, sleep well, work a little harder; put my faith in something I can't see", sjunger Lilly Hiatt i titelspåret till sitt tredje album, "Trinity Lane". Några raka, uppriktiga rader från ett album där Hiatt blottar sig totalt. Texterna är i högst grad personliga och berättar om en uppväxt präglar av mammas självmord när Lilly var bara ett år, om personliga problem, om alkoholberoende och kampen att göra sig fri från det. Men här finns också sånger som blickar framåt och är fyllda av hopp.<br/><br/>"Trinity Lane" är producerad av Michael Trent från Shovels & Rope och musikaliskt är det en befriande blandning av Hiatts americana-rötter och hennes kärlek till nittiotalets grunge/postpunk med band som Dinosaur Jr., the Breeders och the Pixies.<br/><br/>"I like to rock out", säger Hiatt. "Trent really brought that alive. I wasn't playing by the rules because I didn't and don't believe in them. And what I really miss is the way we celebrated angry women in the nineties very openly and allowed them to express that side of themselves through their music. I think women should be allowed to be angry".<br/><br/>Lilly Hiatt är som de flesta säkert redan anat dotter till John Hiatt.

Time In The Sun is the 4th full length album from Charleston, SC band Susto. The album was written and recorded in the midst of a lot of life changing events for lead writer/singer Justin Osborne. Like everyone around the world, Osborne was navigating the global issues felt from the pandemic while normal life continued with its own blessings and challenges.. <br/><br/>"We were navigating the global and national issues that everyone else was dealing with, but also I became a father and also lost my father. There was a lot of contemplation going on in my brain, a lot of personal evolution going on in my life, and songwriting was my way of working through it all. The title Time in the Sun is meant to be a monument to my own human existence and also a tribute to the human experience in general. I wouldn't claim to understand what it means to be a human, from the countless different perspectives of the world, but I do have my own experience to reflect on and I want to be able to express and explain that in some way. I guess this album is an attempt at that. At the core though, it's just a collection of songs about my life and my feelings."

Luther is best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist for boogie and blues-rock innovators North Mississippi Allstars and has recorded with an amazing array of musicians throughout his impressive career including Robert Plant, Levon Helm, Beck, Ry Cooder, Mavis Staples, Patty Griffin, John Hiatt, Lucero, Jon Spencer among others. Since he first made his recording debut at 14 playing guitar on The Replacement's Pleased To Meet Me he has become widely known both as a talented go-to musician and producer with five Grammy nominations to prove it.<br/> <br/>More in line with his South Memphis String Band records or his two Grammy-nominated solo albums than with the North Mississippi Allstars, Rock 'n Roll Blues as Luther puts it is "folk music with juke-joint drums and lots of harmonies." Essentially an autobiography set to music, the 10-track LP traces Luther's journey from excitable teen growing up in rural Mississippi to tour-van vet and showcases his acutely observant songwriting and superb guitar playing.
