Warner Music are delighted to announce the release of a commemorative triple black vinyl album in honour of the 40th Anniversary of IRON MAIDEN's seminal third album, The Number Of The Beast, which was also the first to feature Bruce Dickinson on vocals and was to become the record which catapulted the band to international stardom. Included in the new vinyl package is Beast Over Hammersmith - available now officially for the very first time on vinyl - featuring the live concert from March 1982's now legendary Hammersmith Odeon London show from the Beast On The Road World Tour. Recorded only days before the release of The Number Of The Beast album, its remarkable to think these now classic songs at that time were still brand new, unfamiliar and being heard live by fans for the very first time. A real piece of history in the making.<br/><br/>The package features exclusive liner notes written by Maiden founder and bassist Steve Harris as well as restored and expanded artwork taken from the CD format of Beast Over Hammersmith, previously only available in the Limited Edition Eddie's Archive boxset originally released in 2002. <br/><br/>Steve Harris comments, <br/>"On this vinyl release we get the chance to put Total Eclipse in its rightful spot on the album for the first time. The reason it didn't make it in the first place was that it was all a mad rush when we were finishing the record and we had to get the Run to the Hills single out before the tour and we basically had to pick a B-side and it was between Gangland and Total Eclipse and we just picked the wrong one, really! I think Total Eclipse is a stronger song and the album would have been stronger if it had been on there."

This is the first ever Iron Maiden Zoetrope picture disc vinyl featuring unique zoetrope artwork. The original sleeve has been expanded and contains new artwork and exclusive notes from Steve Harris.

Iron Maidens dubbelalbum "The Book Of Souls" är producerat av Kevin Shirley i slutet av 2014, men de sista detaljerna spelades in 2015. Maiden beslutade sig att dröja med releasdatumet pga Bruce Dickinson, som genomgått en cancerbehandling. <br/><br/>Det fantastiska omslaget är skapat av Mark Wilkinson, som har arbetat med bandet tidigare, och eftersom detta 11-spårs-album har en totallängd på 92 minuter, blir det Iron Maiden första dubbelalbum i karriären! Albumet har en bredare ljudbild där Steve Harris står för 6 av låtarna tillsammans med gitarristerna i bandet och en helt egenskriven låt. Detta är också första gången sedan 1984-års Powerslave där Bruce Dickinson skrivit två låtar helt själv, varav en av dom är den längsta i bandets historia. Två låtar är även Dickinson / Smith-samarbeten. <br/><br/>Steve Harris kommenterar:<br/><br/>"We approached this album in a different way to how we've recorded previously. A lot of the songs were actually written while we were there in the studio and we rehearsed and recorded them straight away while they were still fresh, and I think that immediacy really shows in the songs, they have almost a live feel to them, I think. I'm very proud of The Book Of Souls, we all are, and we can't wait for our fans to hear it, and especially to take it out on the road next year!"<br/><br/>Bruce fortsätter,<br/><br/>"We're really excited about The Book Of Souls and had a fantastic time creating it. We started working on the album in late summer 2014 and recorded it at Guillame Tell Studios in Paris, where we'd done the Brave New World album back in 2000 so the studio holds special memories for all of us. We were delighted to discover the same magical vibe is still alive and very much kicking there! So we immediately felt at home and the ideas just started flowing. By the time we'd finished we all agreed that each track was such an integral part of the whole body of work that if it needed to be a double album, then double its going to be!"

On the exact day of its Golden Jubilee, STATION TO STATION will be issued as a limited edition 50th anniversary half-speed mastered picture disc LP with a reproduction of a poster used to advertise the album 50 years ago.<br/><br/>The album saw Bowie relocate to Cherokee Studio in Los Angeles and incorporate elements of his 'Plastic Soul' period, coupled with much more experimental elements, which would become more prevalent over his next couple of albums. The first single from the album GOLDEN YEARS, released in November 1975, would give Bowie a top ten single on both sides of the Atlantic. The second single, TVC 15, would, a decade later, be heard and seen by almost 2 billion people when Bowie chose it to open his set at Live Aid.<br/><br/>The sound of STATION TO STATION was partly influenced by Bowie's burgeoning interest in the electronic music and driving rhythms of bands coming out of Germany, such as NEU! and Kraftwerk, most notably on the ten-minute title track, while still embracing dancefloor-friendly grooves in songs such as STAY and GOLDEN YEARS.<br/><br/>Harry Maslin, who had worked with Bowie on some of the tracks on his previous album, YOUNG AMERICANS, was chosen as Bowie's co-producer. They entered the studio in September 1975 with a tight stripped-down band featuring Carlos Alomar & Earl Slick on guitars, George Murray on bass, Dennis Davis on drums, David's Childhood friend Geoffe MacCormack (under the nom de plume Warren Peace) on backing vocals and on loan from Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band, Roy Bittan on piano and organ. Maslin has since said that the vocals on the standout track WILD IS THE WIND and GOLDEN YEARS were both Bowie's first takes.<br/><br/>Ten days after the album's release, David started the ISOLAR TOUR, which visited over 65 dates in 11 countries and is cited as being hugely influential for its use of banks of fluorescent white light set against black backdrops. At the end of the tour, Bowie started work on Iggy Pop's debut solo album, The Idiot, when the pair and producer Tony Visconti moved to Berlin to mix the record. David settled there, ready to begin his next groundbreaking musical adventure.<br/><br/>This new pressing of STATION TO STATION was cut on a customised late Neumann VMS80 lathe with fully recapped electronics from 192kHz restored masters of the original Record Plant master tapes, with no additional processing on transfer. The half-speed was cut by John Webber at AIR Studios.

Told through sublime, kaleidoscopic, never-before-seen footage, performances and music, Brett Morgen's (The Kid Stays in the Picture, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, Jane) feature length experiential cinematic odyssey explores David Bowie's creative, musical and spiritual journey. The film is guided by David Bowie's own narration and is the first officially sanctioned film on the artist. <br/><br/>The companion album to MOONAGE DAYDREAM features songs from spanning Bowie's career and includes previously unheard material, unique mixes created for the film and this release along with dialogue from Bowie himself. <br/> <br/>Highlights include a previously unreleased live medley of 'The Jean Genie / Love Me Do / The Jean Genie' recorded live at the final Ziggy Stardust concert at Hammersmith Odeon in 1973, featuring Jeff Beck on guitar. Other rarities include an early version of the Hunky Dory favourite 'Quicksand' and a previously unreleased live version of 'Rock 'n' Roll With Me' from the legendary 1974 'Soul Tour'.
