The Shadow of the Guest is a new limited-edition release from Blonde Redhead, following their acclaimed 2023 album Sit Down for Dinner. The record features newly expanded versions of “Before,” “Rest of Her Life,” and “Via Savona,” recorded with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. It also includes reimagined versions of the viral favorite “For the Damaged Coda,” including a beautiful mariachi-inspired take, as well as a collection of ambient ASMR tracks crafted by Kazu. Dreamlike, intimate, and a slightly surreal, The Shadow of the Guest offers a fresh lens on the world of Sit Down for Dinner and beyond, inviting listeners to tap into the sense of wonder and childlike emotion that run through the band’s work.

Stay Proud of Me is the debut album from LA-based Korean-American artist NoSo (real name, Baek Hwong). Their stage name is shorthand for North/South: a nod to their Korean heritage, and the inane origin question ("Which Korea are you from?") that so many Korean Americans inevitably face at some point in their lives. Across 10 tracks, NoSo indirectly grapples with the insecurities and frustrations that can arise from the Asian American experience, with the end result feeling like a balm for the alienated.Stay Proud of Me offers a deeply earnest coming-of-age story, a nuanced introduction to NoSo’s universe and Hwong’s rapidly expanding musical abilities. The marriage of their lyrics and captivating guitar performance feels magical, as if NoSo can open up portals to fantastic new realms, guided by an emotional honesty that breaks you down in one moment and fills you with joy in the next.

Blondshell’s second album, If You Asked For A Picture, expands on the visceral songwriting and wit that made her 2023 self-titled debut a critical sensation. Its title inspired by a Mary Oliver poem, Sabrina Teitelbaum explores themes of control, relationships, and self-reflection, gesturing towards an even deeper autobiographical story. Reunited with producer Yves Rothman, she embraces a confident sonic range, blending colossal hooks, layered textures, and bold, traditionally masculine aesthetics ripped from Queens of the Stone Age and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
