Geese return with their 3rd album, Getting Killed. They tracked the album with Kenneth Blume in 10 fast-paced days. With scant time for overdubbing, what emerged is a chaotic comedy, shambolic in structure but passionately performed, informed by an exacting vision. Big riffs are layered on choir samples; hissing drum machines pulse softly behind screeching guitars. They balance a disarming tenderness with an intensified anger, trading their love of classic rock for a disdain for music itself.

Westerman’s 3rd album, A Jackal’s Wedding, is a document of leaving and arriving, ongoing transformation, and the liminal spaces between shadows and the lights that cast them. The collaboration with producer Marta Salogni (who mastered An Inbuilt Fault) created a woozy and dreamier work than the 2 previous Westerman albums. Recorded in a 17th century mansion, converted into an art space on the island of Hydra; the album reflects the chaos and limits of the space and uses it as a collaborator.

Cymande (pronounced Sah-mahn-day) are a legendary funk group formed in 1971 in London by musicians from Guyana, Jamaica and Saint Vincent. Their name was derived from a calypso word for Dove, symbolizing peace and love. The band were signed by producer John Schroeder to his Alaska label in the UK (and Janus in North America). Cymande went on to release three albums in the early-to-mid 1970s. Their second LP, Second Time Round (1973), further developed their unique musical stew of funk, soul, Afro rhythms and Caribbean stylings, perhaps epitomised on the popular track 'Fug'.

Off the back of 2022’s critically acclaimed Heart Under, Dundalk, Ireland's 5-piece Just Mustard now return with “POLLYANNA,” the luminous and lurching first tease of their anticipated third album (more on that coming soon). A thrilling collision of warped guitars, submerged beats, and front woman Katie Ball’s dreamlike vocals pushed higher in the mix than ever before, the track captures the band at a turning point - reaching for euphoria while wrestling with its emotional cost. Anchored by the group’s signature sonic disorientation but newly embracing directness and melody, “POLLYANNA” sets the tone for a new era of Just Mustard, one that finds beauty in contradiction, pairing the raw power of noise-rock with a conflicted optimism that’s as disarming as it is cathartic.
